Gainesville Man Supected of DUI, BACs .178 and .191

Gainesville police arrested a man early Sunday that they suspect of driving drunk, without a license and in a stolen car that clipped off a couple of signs before it came to a stop.

The suspect of Gainesville, was arrested at 4:56 a.m. Sunday on charges of grand theft auto, DUI causing damage to property, resisting arrest, driving with no valid driver’s license, and fleeing or attempting to elude police. Blood alcohol level samples were .178 and .191, both well over the legal limit of .08.

The arrest occured following a foot chase through an apartment complex. Alvarez said a records check showed Doby was never issued a driver’s license.

The suspect remains in Alachua County Jail. Pending a trial he faces up to 10 years in prison.
